With the incredible success of the LOTR, Hollywood is looking for the next ready made billion dollar franchise. It wasn’t the Golden Compass and it won’t be Narnia. My humble suggestion is Hollywood retool the Asia epic story “The Journey West” for a Judo-Christian audience (in this case West is India.) Yes, it has been done to death in Asia, but in the New World and Europe it is a new and cool story as long as it takes place in a fictional world. (Your main stream Bible-Belters don’t want to see a movie about polytheistic Eastern religions.)
I know how I would do it, so if you are a producer drop me a note. Actually I would love to see Joss Whedon and Peter Jackson collaborate on the project. (It won’t happen but I think Joss could tell the story and Peter make it epic on the screen.)
