“Describe your experiences at completing tasks in situations that had tight deadlines and/or multiple priorities or in which there were individuals who had difficulties interacting to reach agreement.”
"... Prevention is a far better method for dealing with the problems mentioned in the question, than any other method. It is always better to settle the differences among the individuals and reach a consensus, before getting too deep into a project. The consensus is created and maintained during the project by allowing the "strong personalities" an outlet for their concerns, and being flexible enough to respond when needed, but not allowing team members to lose sight of the goal. While issues of time, budget or priority are often more the concern of the team leader than team member, by making the members aware of the issues in a controlled fashion the leader can use adversity to unify the team instead of demoralizing it. Additionally, cross training individuals in other jobs reduces the strong personality problem, and fosters innovation, but must be tempered by ensuring the each person’s tasks are well defined, and they are motivated." The point of all this is that most people are followers and even the “difficult people” if deprived of an audience will fall into line, and if they fail to, then their coworkers will absorb most of whining…
