Advertising and diets

So, the move over to the new server is on hold since I have real work to do.

The "special" TIVO advertising has been well received but people seem to think it's a bit twisted. I don't think so, if you read women's magazines or watch late night TV that is where the twisted advertising comes in. I admit I read Cosmo in line at the store, all men should since these are the lies women are told that we are held too. Those magazines claim to boast women's self esteem, however that is like building a wall higher by taking bricks out of the bottom. Sure they feel better in all the fancy clothes and makeup they read about in its pages, but they "need" the clothes and junk to feel that way. My favorite commercials are those pseudo-science diet pill commercials that start out "No offence if you aren't really fat then stop watching". I have two pieces of advice, first just cause that guy is a Ph.D. doesn't mean he knows jack. I know lots of Ph.D.'s who I am fairly sure got their Ph.D. from a Crackerjack box, also you can get a Ph.D. in damn near anything, not just science. Second, the reality of big Pharmaceutical companies is that if really worked and made you thinner and grew the protrusion(s) that are appropriate for your gender, they would move heaven and earth to buy the company and get the drug through the FDA. So, if they haven't then that says something about the product.

Since I will have Ph.D. soon here is my diet suggestion. If some one you know is in need of weight loss drugs, I suggest buying them a box of TicTacs (I like the dark green ones) and putting them in a pill bottle (it has to look legit), then tell them that every time they feel hungry to take 2 and a full 8 oz glass of water. Then secretly cut down on their food intake, and walk with them every night. Soon, they will start losing weight and miracle of miracles its all the pills not the eating less and exercising more. Be sure to send me a check or money order!
